US expels two members of Iranian UN delegation
Original: State Department says Iranian UN delegation duo expelled from US
The State Department says it has expelled two members of Iran's UN delegation from the United States. Few further details were immediately available about the identities of the two diplomats or the specific reasons cited for the expulsion. The move comes amid already tense relations between Washington and Tehran, and is likely to draw a response from Iran and discussion at the United Nations.
Why now: Expelling diplomats from a UN delegation is a rare and escalatory step in already strained US-Iran relations
