Original: ‘Ballots Over Billionaires’: Bernie Sanders in S.F. to lend star power to wealth tax
Bernie Sanders appeared in San Francisco under the slogan 'Ballots Over Billionaires', lending his political star power to a campaign for a wealth tax. The Vermont senator and longtime critic of concentrated wealth urged voters to back taxing the ultra-rich, framing the issue as a test of democratic priorities against billionaire influence.
Why now: Sanders is a prominent national figure campaigning on wealth taxation, a polarising policy drawing wide attention.
