Apple's minimalist design criticised for hiding fire extinguishers
Original: Apple's "Clean Design" Is Stupidity When It Comes to Hiding Fire Extinguishers
A widely shared critique argues that Apple's obsession with clean, minimalist design leads to fire extinguishers and other safety equipment being concealed behind seamless walls and panels. The piece contends that hiding emergency equipment to preserve aesthetics is a safety problem, sparking debate among designers and engineers about whether minimalist architecture in offices and buildings goes too far when it compromises function and safety.
Why now: Debate over whether Apple's design philosophy prioritises aesthetics over safety is resonating with design and tech communities.
