Ayed Abu Eqtaish, director of the SEYAJ Organization for Child Protection, says Palestinian children freed from Israeli military detention are emerging 'destroyed', with psychological support resources described as very limited. More than 350 children are reportedly affected. The remarks highlight concerns over the treatment of minors in detention and the lack of rehabilitation services available to them after release.
Why now: Ongoing conflict and reports of Palestinian minors in Israeli custody are drawing renewed attention to child welfare in detention.
