Trump Promotes Data Centers at Rally With Republican Under Fire
Original: Trump Promotes Data Centers at Rally With Republican Facing Heat on Them
Donald Trump used a rally alongside a Republican lawmaker to voice support for data center development, even as that politician faces criticism over such projects back home. The endorsement puts the former president squarely behind an industry drawing local opposition over power demands, water use and strain on communities. The remarks highlight a growing divide within the party over how to handle the data center boom.
Why now: Data centers have become a contentious local issue, and Trump's public backing of them at a rally is a notable political intervention.
