Linux 7.4 Adds Device-Tree Support for Apple's M4 Macs

Linux kernel 7.4 will include device-tree support for Apple's M4-powered Macs, extending official kernel support for Apple Silicon hardware. This means the M4 generation of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini and iMac machines can be booted with mainline Linux rather than relying on out-of-tree patches, a milestone for developers running Linux on Macs.

Why now: It signals that Apple's newest M4 Macs are gaining mainstream Linux support, which excites developers and the open-source community.
