A University of Cambridge zoology department article argues that nature conservation should move beyond a focus on individual species and habitats to protect the processes of entire ecosystems at the scale of whole landscapes and seascapes. The piece outlines why this shift matters and highlights conservation successes already achieved through this approach, prompting discussion among biodiversity and conservation scientists.
Why now: The article offers a fresh framing of conservation strategy that resonates with researchers discussing biodiversity protection online.
