Readers seek books on America's obsession with Ancient Greece
Original: Looking for book recommendations on the American identification with/worship of Ancient Greece. # bookstodon # reading
A reader is asking for book recommendations on how Americans have identified with or idealised Ancient Greece, drawing on classical imagery in American political and cultural thought. The request has drawn modest attention in the book-loving community, which regularly swaps reading suggestions on niche historical and intellectual topics.
Why now: Book communities actively share recommendations, and the classical tradition in American identity is a topic of renewed popular interest.
