Burnham signals push to reverse Brexit as City backs him

Original: Burn Brexit, burn, signals Burnham -- the City is with him https://www.standard.co.uk/business/uk-rejoin-eu-andy-burnham

Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, has signalled a willingness to move beyond Brexit, arguing the UK should look again at closer ties with Europe, and the piece reports the City of London is sympathetic to his stance. Commentators are weighing what a leading northern Labour mayor's shift means for the rejoin debate and for national politics.

Why now: A high-profile Labour mayor openly challenging the post-Brexit settlement, with apparent City support, revives the rejoin debate.
