Original: jan slagter

Media mogul Joop van den Ende says Jan Slagter, director of Dutch broadcaster Omroep MAX, is the most underrated man in television. The remark, published in Noordhollands Dagblad, puts fresh attention on Slagter, whose channel reaches large older audiences in the Netherlands with programmes like Boer Zoekt Vrouw. It is a notable compliment from one of the country's most influential TV producers.

Why now: A prominent Dutch media figure publicly praised a broadcaster chief, prompting renewed interest in him.
