Original: Trump Election Rally: President touts Republican candidates, tells voters to pretend āIām on ballot"ā
At an election rally, President Trump urged supporters to back Republican candidates and told voters to act as if he himself were on the ballot. The remarks frame the midterm contest as a referendum on his presidency, with the president personally campaigning to energize the Republican base and boost down-ticket candidates in a closely watched election season.
Why now: Trump is personally stumping for Republicans ahead of the elections, framing the vote as a test of his presidency.
