Sarcastic post on Italy, fascism and antisemitism stirs debate

Original: you telling me Italy, former fascist country, former Hitler buddies, whose PM is from a fascist party, overrun by hundre

A widely shared sarcastic message mocks claims that Italy has a problem with Jews, pointing to the country's fascist past, its alliance with Hitler, a prime minister from a party with fascist roots, and its large Muslim immigrant population. The author calls the claim 'news of the bloody century', and the remark is drawing amused and angry replies about Italy's history, Giorgia Meloni's Fratelli d'Italia, and current debates over antisemitism and immigration.

Why now: It sarcastically weds Italy's fascist history to current debates about antisemitism and immigration, touching a live political nerve
