Google Gemini launches its app on iPhone
Original: Google Gemini is now available for the iPhone
Google's AI assistant Gemini is now available on the iPhone, giving Apple users access to the chatbot as a dedicated app. The rollout means iPhone owners no longer need to rely on the web to use Gemini, putting Google's AI directly in competition with Apple's own Siri and OpenAI's ChatGPT app. The move highlights the ongoing race among tech giants to place their AI assistants on as many devices as possible.
Why now: A major AI assistant expanding to a rival platform is notable news in the fast-moving AI competition between Google, Apple and OpenAI.
