Astronomer creates animated videos of exoplanet orbits
Original: Not that long ago, we couldn't be sure there were exoplanets. Since then, we've found thousands of them -- and now this
Scientists have gone from debating whether planets exist outside our solar system to confirming thousands of them. Now astrophysicist Jason Wang has created animated, extrapolated visualisations of several exoplanet systems orbiting their stars, published on his website and highlighted by Hackaday. Space enthusiasts are sharing the videos, marvelling at how quickly the field has progressed and at the chance to actually see distant worlds in motion.
Why now: The striking animations offer a rare visual sense of distant planetary systems moving in real time
