No homeless shelter planned for old Broadway grocery store building
Original: No shelter planned for old grocery store building on Eastside at Broadway and Harrison
The former grocery store building at Broadway and Harrison on Tucson's eastside will not be converted into a homeless shelter, according to KVOA. The report ends speculation about the fate of the vacant property, a topic of concern for nearby residents and business owners following rumors of a possible shelter project at the busy intersection.
Why now: Local residents have been worried about rumors that the vacant store could become a homeless shelter, so the official denial is news.
