Latvian PM set to lead pro-Ukraine coalition after election win

Original: Latvian PM on track to lead pro-Ukraine coalition after election win

Latvia's prime minister is on course to form a pro-Ukraine governing coalition following the country's parliamentary election, according to Reuters. The result would keep Riga firmly in the camp supporting Kyiv, maintaining Latvia's strong backing for Ukraine and its pledges to continue military assistance amid ongoing concern over Russia's war next door.

Why now: Latvia's election outcome matters internationally because it shapes the size and unity of the pro-Ukraine bloc in NATO's eastern flank.
