Oman Had Earlier Banned the FlyDubai Attacker From Flying
Original: Oman Had Previously Banned the FlyDubai Attacker From Flying
The Wall Street Journal reports that Oman had previously banned the individual who attacked a FlyDubai flight from flying, raising questions about how the attacker was still able to board. The revelation points to possible gaps in enforcement of aviation security bans across the region and is drawing scrutiny of screening and coordination procedures between Gulf states.
Why now: The new report suggests security failures that allowed a banned passenger to fly, prompting concern over regional aviation safety.
