Google launches Fiber Phone home phone service
Original: Google just launched its Fiber Phone landline service
Google has launched Fiber Phone, a home landline service offered alongside its Google Fiber broadband service. The service gives Fiber customers a traditional home phone number with features such as call forwarding and cloud voicemail, allowing calls to move between the home line and mobile devices. It marks Google's continued push to expand its high-speed internet and telecom offerings beyond broadband in the US markets where Fiber operates.
Why now: Google's move into home phone service is a notable expansion of its Fiber business and challenges traditional telecom providers.
