Original: 🟠 UPDATE German Chancellor Merz Pledges Additional Support to Ukraine in Kyiv Visit A drone attack hit Kyiv's Northern B

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz travelled to Kyiv and pledged additional support for Ukraine. His visit was overshadowed by a drone attack that struck Kyiv's Northern Bridge while he was in the city, with unverified footage showing vehicles on the bridge at the time. The trip underlines Germany's continued backing of Ukraine amid ongoing Russian strikes on the capital.

Why now: The combination of a high-profile diplomatic visit and a drone strike on the capital during it is drawing attention.
