A Ukrainian unmanned ground vehicle has been shown shooting down a Russian FPV attack drone using a net gun. The robot reportedly detected the drone as it moved in to strike and neutralised it with a net launcher, demonstrating a growing counter-drone tactic on the battlefield. The incident highlights how both sides are racing to defend ground systems against cheap first-person-view drones, now one of the deadliest weapons in the war.
Why now: Counter-drone technology is a major focus of the Ukraine war, and footage of a ground robot defeating an FPV drone showcases a novel defensive tactic.
