Poll workers and election day rules draw attention in Brazil
Original: mesario
Brazilians are looking up information about being a mesário, the poll worker who helps run voting stations during elections. Interest centres on the electoral day off: workers are entitled to time off, and G1 published a guide explaining how the folga eleitoral works, who qualifies and what employers must observe on voting day.
Why now: Upcoming Brazilian elections are prompting people to check their duties and rights as poll workers.
