India take Asian Games T20 gold while ODI side stumbles

Original: India T20 team beat Pakistan to win Asian Games gold - but ODI side miss out on series sweep of West Indies after Shai Hope's 162 not out

India's T20 team beat Pakistan to win gold at the Asian Games, a major continental triumph. On the same stretch of fixtures, however, India's ODI side missed out on a series sweep of the West Indies after Shai Hope struck an unbeaten 162 to rescue the tourists. Fans are celebrating the gold medal while questioning the ODI batting collapse that let the series slip to a drawn finish.

Why now: A big India-Pakistan final at the Asian Games plus Shai Hope's match-saving century against India in the ODI series both happened at once.
