Hamilton hails Sepang qualifying as his best lap of 2026
Original: lewis hamilton
Lewis Hamilton is in the news after calling his qualifying lap at Sepang the best of his 2026 Formula 1 season so far. The seven-time world champion has also been open about his frustrations with the sport, saying racing and golf are 'probably the two most frustrating fricking sports'. Attention now turns to the Bahrain Grand Prix, where tyre strategy is expected to be decisive for McLaren and Ferrari.
Why now: Hamilton's praise for his own qualifying performance and his candid comments about the sport are drawing attention during the F1 race weekend.
