Oklahoma religious leaders back Lankford's theology student aid bill
Religious leaders across Oklahoma are publicly supporting a bill introduced by Senator James Lankford that would allow theology students to access state student financial aid. Supporters argue the measure ensures students training for ministry are treated equally with other students, removing what they see as an unfair restriction on religious study.
Why now: The endorsement by prominent Oklahoma faith leaders has drawn fresh attention to the bill's equal-treatment implications for religious education funding.
