Original: jacob rees-mogg

Tucker Carlson has sparked a backlash after questioning why Britain fought Hitler, asking 'who cares?', drawing criticism from figures including Jacob Rees-Mogg, who defended Britain's decision to stand up to Nazi Germany. The remarks have reignited debate in Britain about the country's role in the Second World War and the sacrifices made against the Nazis.

Why now: Carlson's suggestion that Britain need not have fought Hitler is being widely rebuked by British commentators including Rees-Mogg.
