Independent Spain journalism fundraiser launches on Patreon
Original: Support independent Spain journalism on Patreon: - Twitter Supporter $3 - Truth Teller $5 - Fake News Fighter $10 - Spai
A journalist is asking readers to fund independent reporting on Spain through Patreon, with monthly tiers ranging from $3 for a "Twitter Supporter" up to $250 for a "Defender of Democracy." Higher tiers carry playful labels like "Fake News Fighter" and "Super Spain Supporter." The pitch taps into the broader debate over paying directly for independent media as traditional outlets struggle.
Why now: Crowdfunding appeals for independent journalism are drawing attention amid declining trust in traditional media.
