Former Conservative minister Jacob Rees-Mogg has accused US right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson of 'verging on defending Hitler' after Carlson questioned Britain's decision to enter the Second World War. Speaking on a podcast, Rees-Mogg defended the UK's entry into the war against Nazi Germany. The clash is drawing attention as Carlson, described by critics as a Putin sympathiser, continues to stir controversy over historical and foreign policy commentary.
Why now: The direct clash between two prominent conservative figures over Second World War history is unusual and politically charged.
