Original: 狩野永徳

The name of the 16th-century painter Kano Eitoku is drawing searches in Japan amid renewed attention to the Sengoku-era figure Hidenaga Toyotomi, whose story is being covered in connection with the drama series 'Toyotomi Kyodai'. Recent coverage describes Hidenaga revitalising commerce in the castle town of Koriyama to rebuild Yamato's finances, with characters including his wife Kei appearing.

Why now: Interest in Sengoku-era history and the ongoing drama about the Toyotomi brothers is driving searches for related historical figures like Kano Eitoku.
