Original: Sudanese army repels RSF, allied rebel group attack near Ethiopian border - War in Sudan - World
Sudan's army says it has repelled an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and an allied rebel group near the border with Ethiopia. The clash comes as the war between the army and the RSF, ongoing since April 2023, continues to displace millions and spread instability toward Sudan's eastern border regions.
Why now: Renewed fighting near the Ethiopian border raises fears the Sudan war is spreading to new areas.
