Tim Fehlbaum's 2021 science fiction film 'Tides' is being praised by German-speaking film fans as an example of intelligent, understated science fiction. The film, set in a degraded future world of water and broken infrastructure, is valued precisely because it avoids the usual laser guns, superheroes and exploding spaceships, instead asking uncomfortable questions about how people live.
Why now: German-language film enthusiasts are recommending the film to others interested in thoughtful, low-key science fiction.
