Ofer Winter calls for Gaza resettlement, backs Netanyahu for PM
Original: Ofer Winter calls for Gaza resettlement, rejects Oct. 7 state commission: 'We'll back Netanyahu for PM'
Israeli reserve general Ofer Winter has publicly called for the resettlement of Gaza, rejected the idea of a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 attacks, and said he and his supporters would back Benjamin Netanyahu for prime minister. His remarks add a far-right voice to Israeli debates over the war's future and how the October 7 failures should be investigated.
Why now: His comments touch on deeply contested questions about Gaza's future and accountability for October 7, making them politically explosive in Israel.
