New York mayor slams US support for Netanyahu over Gaza

Original: New York mayor slams US support for Netanyahu’s Gaza genocide

New York's mayor has sharply criticised the United States government for its continued support of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing Israel's campaign in Gaza as a genocide. The comments add to growing international criticism of American policy on the war, with the mayor publicly breaking from the bipartisan consensus of backing Israel's offensive.

Why now: A high-profile American political figure openly accusing the US of backing genocide is unusually contentious and challenges mainstream Washington policy.
