Data centre firm Apatura accused of greenwashing over heat plans
Original: the lying arseholes from apatura are trying to say that they'll sequester the heat from their shitty data centres to fee
Developer Apatura is facing accusations of greenwashing over claims that heat from its planned data centre in Larbert, Scotland, could feed into district heating and that the site would create 500 permanent jobs. Critics, including a widely shared post, dismiss the claims as misleading, with one commenter wishing the company 'total liquidation'. The debate taps into wider scepticism about data centre energy use and promised community benefits.
Why now: Anger over a data centre development's claimed green benefits and job numbers is resonating amid wider concern about data centres' energy footprint.
