Robot maker melts decommissioned robots in 75-ton steel vat

Original: AI robot company decommissioned its robots ‘Terminator-style’ in a 75-ton vat of molten steel — Arnold Schwarzenegger suggested melting them, one robot held up a thumbs-up sign as it sank into molten metal

A robotics company has destroyed its retired robots by lowering them into a 75-ton vat of molten steel, reportedly at Arnold Schwarzenegger's suggestion. In footage of the event, one robot raised a thumbs-up as it sank into the metal. The company described the disposal as deliberately styled after the Terminator films, drawing amusement online over the cinematic nod and the robot's final gesture.

Why now: The Terminator-themed spectacle, Schwarzenegger's involvement and the robot's thumbs-up make the stunt highly shareable and nostalgic.
