Original: quarticciolo
Don Andrea Coluccia, the priest known for leading the anti-drug push in the Quarticciolo district of Rome, says he was surrounded and threatened, with insults reportedly shouted at him in Arabic. The incident has drawn attention to tensions in the neighbourhood, where residents and volunteers have long campaigned against drug dealing and for greater police presence.
Why now: The intimidation of a well-known anti-drug priest has reignited debate over security and drug crime in the Rome suburb.
