Commenter claims credit for 'columbusing' NASA's humor

Original: which brings me to the point i wanted to make. i columbused # NASA ’s LOLs a few years ago ―thanks to a Tumblr post. sur

A widely shared comment asserts that the writer 'columbused' NASA's jokes a few years ago, meaning they popularized a discovery that was already known to others, crediting a Tumblr post for pointing the way. They argue that at the time there was little documentation beyond oral history and scattered articles, with nothing in trade books or popular culture covering NASA's comedic side.

Why now: The post sparked discussion about who gets credit for rediscovering and popularizing overlooked cultural material like NASA's humor.
