How effective altruism conquered the world
Original: The evolution of effective altruism
The Economist has published a piece examining how effective altruism evolved from a niche philosophical movement into a global force shaping philanthropy, tech wealth and policy debates. The article traces the movement's growth, its focus on evidence-based giving, and the controversies that have accompanied its rise, prompting renewed discussion about its influence and future direction.
Why now: A major new Economist feature on the movement's trajectory is drawing attention and debate.
