Geese suddenly take flight over lakeside meadow
Original: Gestern am See. Graugänse auf einer Wiese, unspektakulär... plötzlich flog die ganze Wiese auf, gemischte Gänse flattert
A birdwatcher in Germany described a surprise encounter while cycling by a lake: greylag geese feeding quietly on a meadow suddenly took off as a mixed flock, flapping overhead with calls of "kraahk" and "beep-beep". The cyclist stopped anyway to take photos, capturing the dramatic burst of wings despite knowing the birds would already be out of reach.
Why now: Striking first-hand wildlife photography and storytelling shared with nature-loving communities
