Claims of plague outbreak near Russian biolab spark speculation
Original: Plague outbreak in Russia due to biolab leak. Meanwhile, an outbreak of populism in Ukraine
Claims are circulating that a plague outbreak in Russia was caused by a leak from a biological laboratory. The report pairs this allegation with commentary on rising populism in Ukraine, drawing a pointed contrast between the two neighbouring countries. The claim of a biolab link has not been independently verified, and the scale of any outbreak remains unclear.
Why now: unverified biolab leak claims during the Russia-Ukraine war echo earlier disinformation narratives
