The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a medical transport plane that went missing early Saturday while traveling between Bermuda and Canada, near Massachusetts waters. The aircraft was reportedly carrying out a medical transfer when contact was lost. Officials gave no indication that anyone aboard was found, and the decision to call off the operation ends the active rescue effort for now.
Why now: The suspension of rescue operations for a missing medical flight between Bermuda and Canada is drawing attention because of the unknown fate of those aboard.
