Australian Conservation Foundation takes climate ad to Fiji newspapers
Original: 👇 ad put in both Fiji newspapers by the Australian Conservation Foundation. A concise summary of # auspol climate policy
The Australian Conservation Foundation has placed an advertisement in both of Fiji's major newspapers, summarising what it calls Australia's climate policy record. The group's decision to publish the message in Fiji rather than Australia is being read as a pointed appeal to Australia's Pacific neighbours, who have repeatedly pressed Canberra over emissions and climate leadership ahead of regional diplomatic engagements.
Why now: The unusual choice to run a critique of Australian climate policy in Fiji newspapers is drawing attention amid ongoing Pacific pressure on Australia's climate stance.
