Dodgers' Muncy warns against talk of a third straight title
Original: マックス・マンシー
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy has urged his teammates not to discuss a possible third consecutive World Series championship, saying that saying it aloud puts unnecessary pressure on the team. His comments came after the Dodgers opened their series against the Atlanta Braves with a win and a loss, with Freddie Freeman calling that early inconsistency their biggest challenge. Japanese commentary has also focused on Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki chasing a historic three-peat.
Why now: The Dodgers are chasing a third straight championship and Muncy's comments about the pressure of that talk have resonated, especially in Japan where Ohtani, Yamamoto and Sasaki draw huge interest.
