The US Air Force has withdrawn its bomber aircraft from RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire after commanders received new intelligence reports about an Iran-backed plot targeting the base. The post frames the withdrawal in sharply critical terms, describing the US use of the base as part of what it calls a campaign of terrorism against Iran, reflecting anti-war sentiment around American military activity in Britain.

Why now: The withdrawal of US strategic bombers from a key UK base amid reports of an Iran-backed threat is a significant and sensitive military development.
