The US Air Force has pulled its bomber aircraft out of RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, after commanders reportedly received new intelligence about an Iran-backed plot targeting the base. The withdrawal has drawn attention online, with some commenters using it to level broader accusations at US policy toward Iran, calling the American use of the base part of a campaign against Tehran. The episode has put the strategic UK base back in the headlines.

Why now: News of an alleged Iran-backed plot against a major US bomber base in the UK is alarming and politically charged.
