Jeffries says Democrats aim to flip Trump districts like 2018
Original: Jeffries says House Democrats aiming to repeat 2018 sweep by flipping Trump districts
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries says congressional Democrats are targeting Republican-held districts won by Donald Trump, aiming to replicate the party's 2018 midterm sweep that delivered a House majority. His remarks signal Democrats' strategy for upcoming elections: pour resources into competitive Trump-won seats where moderate voters may be persuadable, and turn voter dissatisfaction into gains across the map.
Why now: Democrats are laying out their electoral strategy for the upcoming midterms, drawing attention to whether a 2018-style wave can be repeated.
