Texas agencies keep Flock cameras on pending Abbott funding decision
Original: Texas agencies betting that Abbott will restore funding keep Flock cameras on
Several Texas agencies are continuing to operate Flock surveillance cameras despite uncertain state funding, wagering that Governor Greg Abbott will ultimately restore the money. The standoff has drawn attention because the agencies are running the systems without confirmed budget support, and the decision now rests on whether Abbott reinstates the funding in question.
Why now: Ongoing debate over state funding for Flock's surveillance camera network in Texas has left agencies operating in budgetary limbo.
