Shawn Ryan's 2012 thriller Last Resort rediscovered as an overlooked gem

Original: The Shield creator’s 2012 action series Last Resort is one of the best thrillers you never watched

Last Resort, the 2012 ABC submarine thriller created by The Shield's Shawn Ryan, is being championed as one of the best underseen action series of its era. The show, about a US ballistic missile submarine crew that defies orders and seizes an island, was cancelled after one short season, and renewed attention is framing it as a worthy rewatch.

Why now: A retrospective praising the short-lived series is prompting renewed interest in a forgotten show.
