Connecticut Union Urges State to Reject National Voucher Program
Original: Keep Connecticut Out of the Largest-Ever School Voucher Scheme
The Connecticut Education Association is urging state leaders to keep Connecticut out of what it calls the largest-ever school voucher scheme. The teachers' union argues that public money should remain invested in public schools rather than diverted to private school tuition programs, framing the effort as a threat to Connecticut's public education system.
Why now: A proposed national school voucher expansion has reignited debate over public funding for private education, prompting the union's opposition.
