Original: A quotation from Bill Watterson CALVIN: Your polls are slipping Dad. Better get with it. CALVIN’S DAD: Calvin, being you
A quotation from Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes strip is being shared, in which Calvin tells his dad his polls are slipping and he'd better get with it. His father replies that being a dad is not an elected position and he does not have to respond to polls, prompting Calvin to ask whether that means governing with dictatorial impunity. Why now: The comic strip exchange humorously frames parenting as unelected authority, which parents are finding relatable and sharing.
