Original: Sudan’s al-Burhan rejects talks, vows to retake all territory from RSF
Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has ruled out negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces and pledged to retake all territory held by the paramilitary group. The statement, reported by Al Jazeera, signals a hardening of Khartoum's position in the country's devastating civil war, which has displaced millions and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.
Why now: Ongoing fighting in Sudan and renewed debate over whether a negotiated settlement to the war is possible.
